Online Food Handler Certification Course

The new Food Handler Certificate is required of all food handlers who are not already a Food Sanitation Manager. Under the new Illinois Food Handling Enforcement Act all food handlers working in fast food restaurants, full-service restaurants, bars with food, concession stands, etc must receive or obtain American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited training and basic safe food handling principles within 30 days after employment and every 3 years thereafter starting July 1, 2014. Food handlers working in nursing homes, licensed day care home or facility, hospital, school, long-term care facility or a retail food store must complete training by July 1, 2106.
